Making process integration easier

The Tallence Workflow Engine provides flexible integration of workflow mechanisms into content management and other systems.

The Workflow Engine consists of

  • a workflow server to connect users and resources to defined activities
  • a workflow editor to build and maintain workflow definitions

Workflows can be administered within a content management system via the server, which is a Java component. An easy-to-use program interface manages tasklists for users and groups, as well as the execution and monitoring of predefined workflow steps.

A flexible rights and roles model maintains the efficient distribution of workday tasks with automatic escalation at missed deadlines. Assignment adjustments are made automatically for special night and emergency services as well as for temporary employee substitutions (i.e. at vacation times).

The Editor is a web-based application. Workflow definitions are illustrated graphically and can therefore be maintained by non-technical staff. In this way specific tasks can be assigned directly to the responsible managers, instead of passing through a technical department. For example, a PR-manager can change his press release mechanism on his own - without needing help from a technical specialist. This leads to more freedom and flexibilty in the planning and implementation of workflows.
